These are all albums that have ballsy tone within their different styles of metal. Some of the bands i don't care for on here but they got that wall of sound going...but still Pantera reigns supreme.
rxQueen said:too bad christian took up guitar for fear factory. that guy's a retard, thinking a reverse headstock on his jackson will give him more string tension. and i hate their fans too. a bunch of narrow-minded douchebags.![]()

That's what I wanted to say, but I figured I'd go the less angry route just this once. Zed10R, will you be my friend?Zed10R said:You sir, are the narrow minded douchebag just for making that statement and therefore also a hipocrite. According to you, because I highly praise FF, ESPECIALLY on their latest cd done WITHOUT Dino (egotistical fuker) that means that I am a narrow minded douchebag?? Who the F are YOU to tell ME what I am?? Especially if your only evidence is ONE band that I am a fan of?? Can you play guitar better than Christian? I'll answer that for you. No. Do you have a better sound? I'll answer that one too. HELL no. So STFU. If you despute my answers, prove me wrong. IMO, FF has evolved into a much better band BECAUSE Christian is playing guitar. And let's not forget their bassist is also a member of the worlds best metal band - Strapping Young Lad.

But I give props to Dino for his work with Brujeria. That's is some brutal (although in need of better production) stuff.
guhlenn said:hmm... the guitar was triggered on the meshuggah album. That's a new one.
Zed10R said:I've seen them live. They do not "trigger" the guitars. Process them heavily...yes. But the notes they play are the notes you hear. Triggered drums though....probly. But that's cool. I couldn't tell if they did or not. They are just too damn good to need much more than a drumset, guitars, and amps.
ibanezrocks said:How about Zakk Wylde's sound on the Ozzy song 'No more tears'? Thats the most dangerous sound I've heard.

Next up; Meshuggah uses autoguitartunes. This magical box put's weird notes in weird timings, so you can produce your own meshuggah cd! buy now!
in other words; just cuz it isn't natural means it isn't dangerously sounding? Weird conclusion indeed, for the summum of natural guitar sound would be the acoustic guitar...
giraffe said:i voted pantera (cause they stomp ass)
but whatever you think about the music, i think godsmack should be discussed in any thread about distorted tone.
flame away.
Uladine said:If its about the guitar tone and nothing else it would have to be Pantera for me. Dimebag has his guitar just saturated with thick, solid distortion. Maybe I'm too young, but to me, when comparing the tone of Angus to Dimebag, its like comparing a McDonalds lamp heated rubbery thin beef patty to a 10 pound slab of grilled steak. Just my opinion.
SSgtP said:I voted for AC/DC. The question was who has the biggest most dangerous guitar sound, not who has the most distortion. Heavy distortion is relatively easy to attain, great tone, is something a little harder to achieve. I do like heavy guitar, and I do like the sound of the guitar on many of those "thrash" albums, but none of them rock like Angus. He could sound heavy playing a mandolin!
