I used three tracks to make the guitar sound bigger.
One stereo track panned center.
Two mono tracks, each panned hard left and right, with a 10Ms delay each, and the panned left track set out of phase.
This gave me a very nice fat wide guitar.

Will this method work on vocals as well?

I'm sorry, should I have posted this in the "Mixing/Mastering" section?

Agreed with Track Rat. The delay, especially, should be very nice, although you will probably need a slightly less delay time.

Well I tried it.
It sounded pretty wide to me, as in sounding lots better than before. There was a certain very short ringing quality that I believe is coming from the delay itself...I was reminded of the vocals on an album by Nazareth from long ago and far away...

My favorite trick:
If I have a chorus that happens a couple of times in the song, I let the singer run thru the song, start to finish. Then I'll take the second chorus and copy & paste it onto a new track at the same time as the 1st chorus. I'll take the first chorus and do the same.
Pan the newly-pasted track slightly off-center and maybe add a little chorus effect. I'll be posting a song on which I did that pretty soon.
