Big Mean Sound Machine - Contraband

I can't listen at work (no speakers). But I noticed that this thread was almost at the bottom of page 1 with no replies, and that ain't right. So I figured I'd bump it for you.

Don't take it personally. Man, this place is really dead lately.
 
Mix is great ! Very full deep bass tone. This rhythm track sounds exactly like the Brian Eno stuff on The Talking Heads Remain in Light album, with a bit more jazz than African flare. Which is eclectic genius. Very cool. The guitar solo is a touch wonky, (not quite an Adrian Belew :guitar: ) but the horns save it. Overall great track, really groovey :cool:
 
I listened to about 10 of the mixes. Almost all are muddy as soon as the bass comes in. The Andre Ferraz mix was the cleanest at that point, but was so over-compressed it was almost unlistenable.
Your mix is pretty darned good (this type of music does not need to look like a brick...i.e. keep the dynamics!), but you could use a little work with the percussion vs bass muddiness. IMO
