Wrote and recorded this one last week while my honey was out of town. Whatcha think?

That link should work. Sorry, it's about 6mb... :(

I am listening on home speakers right now, and as usual, I dig your work. A friend of mine also likes it alot.

I think this is my favorite vocal I've heard from you. Very convincing.

Dont think you are going to get off that easy though. I have come to expect a certain standard from you so allow me to switch to the ns 10s and give you a good listening-and critique.

Damn, I thought I was getting off easy. ;)

I was actually worried about the vocal performance being too over the top.

Hopefully the mix is ok. I didn't spend too much time on it. I was going for a Big Brother and the Holding Company type of feel, but, as usual, everyone else says it sounds like Pink Floyd. lol

Anyway... Let me know. I'll be sitting down when the news comes. :)

Hmmm... Led Zeppelin with octave down vocal - morphing into Pink Floyd - back to Zeppelinish.... Maybe that long scream at the end is a little over the top...

Very early 70's sounding, psychadelic blues. Maybe Steppenwolf.

Realy good retro sound overall, good mix. I liked it!

Sort of sounds like the extended live version of a song.

- my "stream of consciousness" opinions... ;- )

sorry, I was distracted by my friend. He heard the song and made me download the song Hotel California by a group called the Eagles. Apparently they were really big back in the day.

THis mix is actually very good imho. I can hear everything crystal clear. The space is also there in the right amount. good.

I have to find something to pick at, so I'll choose the vocal delay. It sounds like the grand canyon. Was there a reverb inserted into the delay?

To be a bit more pickey, I think the bass guit can be slightly more punchy.

The guitars are where they should BE! no complaints at all there.

I love the vocal sound and the expression. Its definitely not over the top to me.more like perfect. Actually, thats what I hear in this song. A song capable of being on the mp3.com sampler CD. WHat mic are you using?

This sounded awesome on the PC speakers!

Great stuff! So much emotion in the vocals. I was glad to see you went from 'dirty floor' in the beginning to the blues standard 'killing floor'. Sure there's a little more FX on the vocals than you usually hear in blues stuff, but I'm all for unique.

I also liked the feedback at the end.

So, a question..., but to keep from Hijacking this thread, I'll post my question in the cave.

WTF is a "Killing Floor"?

WTF is a "Killing Floor"?

You'd think I would know this...

Oh well. At least I didn't sing sham-a-lama-ding-dong. I don't know WTF that means either. ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys.
