I bought 2 sm57's off Ebay....they were coming from Hong Kong. I think it was a bout 90 bucks for both.....not a bad deal. Except, right after I got the items and left feedback and whatnot , the seller became no longer registered on Ebay...so I hope I didn't get jipped either. These must be damn good copies to work like they do!

I've tried lots of other mics for live vocal use, but on my voice the Beta57 sounds better than any so far...mainly because of the treble.

i ve read that shure, like other companies are manufacturing their products in china and other countries just because in china the salaries are low, that way its cheaper for the company to produce a mic, so there is a shure factory in china, and from the factory the products go to distribution companies, and from there to places like ebay. the mic should be alright, if it sounds the same its an original

fake ebay 58 betas
hi i recently took del of 2 off ebay .they look great. but plug them in and they sound crap "a little trebly" is an undestatement .
a quality mic set flat on decent equpiment should sound almost natural ie the same as a spoken voice .if they sound far from that they will be fakes .i would appreciate a pic of the cartridge in a 58 beta & maybe some guidelines on what to look for on an 87 beta ,as i am looking at buying a apparantly genuine one .
does the top uncsrew below the dome for example ?
i noticed on the 58a mics i returned that the second section down fromn the dome was an imitation joint .i would suspect a real betsa 58 will unscrew at this point i have 2 pics of the fakes if anyone is interested
