Best way to cover external soundboard??

So I have added additional soundboard to my studio walls on the inside......They are the 4x8 panels. What is the best way to cover it? Just to paint it?? OR a fabric? As you know it has a sort of "wood,sawdust" feel to it. Any insight is helpful.

Could you be more specific on what this 'soundboard' is? Sorry to say that I doubt anyone here knows what you are talking about (hope you didn't pay too much for it) by this name. Your description sounds like MDF (Medium-density fibreboard) or particle board.
