I need some advice:
I have tracks (played by rompler, actually made from mono samples) in stereo format (the rompler/synth makes them stereo) but I want them in mono.
What is the best way to convert them into mono? There is no possibility to re-record the tracks in mono.
trif.

why do you want them in mono? what software program are you using?
there should be some option to split the stereo files

SX3
because in reality the instrument is mono. As I said, the rompler made it stereo, and the recording was done in stereo.

well to be honest, if you can get used to the track being stereo, then it's probably best to leave it that way.

Unless you have a shortage of tracks or processing power, there's really no harm in having it that way.

But if you needed it mono, then you'd have to bounce it down within the software from stereo into an open mono track. However, if the rompler is stereo in effect, then best to leave it alone.

If it was mono in the first place, it still is mono, it's just taking up twice as much space. Sound-wise, it didn't change.

Also, there aren't actual different ways of mixing stereo to mono that I know of. The two stereo tracks are always combined, resulting in a maximum of +3db in the mono file.
