And i disagree that you can't get a punk tone out of a Champ. All you need are the right fuzz and dirt boxes and the right guitar/pickups.

And I disagree that a civic can't win a drag race against a corvette. all you need are a the right turbo-charger and water-injection and rebuild it to rwd...



btw, I can get a great bogner sound out of my lil' h&k 30watts practice amp. I plug my guitar into the line in of the h&k and plug the line out into a bogner's guitar in.

But for what they are (throw-away amps essentially) the Crates are an unbelievable value.

I suppose. I try not to own any throw-away gear. You know what they say, buy cheap, buy twice (or more than twice).

and for the price of two of those, you can get into something way better. Hell, for $600 US you can get a vintage bassman head. I've been seeing silverface bassmans going for under $400 on ebay lately. sad that 50W fenders are selling for what the 6W fenders are. And i can't tell you how much punk was driven by a bassman at full tilt......

i'm just saying......i'll take a SF bassman over any crate any day of the week.
