I was just wandering. From your experiences where is the place where you have had the best prices and customer support for buying musical instruments, recording equipment, etc...

For me it's whoever has the best deal on what I'm looking for. I'm an hour away from the nearest Guitar Center or anything like it so I usually go the internet route. Taxes and shipping are factors also. I'll use Musican's Friend more often than not.

MF distribution Outlet in KC (the only brick and morters store they have) has the biggest discount arround. alot of the time the merchandise goes for about a third of the catalog price.

Yo MB:

Call all the 800 numbers for a price; when you call Full Compass, nine out of ten times their price will be the lowest.

If you call Full Compass, ask for Heather Paske and tell her "Ben" suggested you call.

Green Hornet:D :D :p :p

Guitar Center will match or beat any price, anywhere provided you have documentation to verify the lowest price, this is of course if they have it in stock. Mail order will save on taxes, but you gotta hurry up and wait.

i cant say ive ever had a really bad experience....my best experience has been with

www.audiomidi.com (thanks Sharon)
www.abemusica.com (love my v67)

i have a local store near me
C&M Music in Baton Rouge
that advertise that they match catalog prices
so ive passed on quite a few bucks there.
sure you have to pay tax but at least you get to
support the local guy
