I'm looking for a decent preamp to record my electric guitar with via a Shure SM57 mic. It should have two XLR inputs (for when I use an additional condenser), and also the option to record directly into amp modelling software such as Guitar Rig or Amplitube. My budget is between £150-£200. Any recommendations?

EDIT: I've narrowed it down to the NI Komplete Audio 6 and Focusrite Saffire usb 6

Hey man, I think what you're looking for is an interface, not a preamp.

Yep. Interfaces have preamps. Well, typically.

I don't see phantom power for a condenser mic (needed) on the FR 6, nor the NI interfaces tho.

Something to keep in mind before purchasing.

There's phantom power on the Saffire 6. I used to own one - there's a 48V button in between the two gain knobs. And, judging by the pictures of the top of the NI interface, there's a 48V light right next to the USB light.

I went for the NI 6 in the end after reading some positive reviews. It does have a phantom power switch.
