I’m new to guitar playing. I have Native Instruments Guitar Rig but no other hardware other than a strat.
I’m wanting to lay down a Reggae rhythm (i.e, Skank, Chuck) guitar track, not the lead guitar. Like bob Marley is doing in this video.
Bob Marley - Stir it up - YouTube
and have it sound somewhere between this and Gregory Issac’s Night Nurse rhythm guitar.
Gregory Isaac: Night Nurse - YouTube
I know there is more going on here than just a guitar (some keyboards and such), and I realize its more than 90 percent technique (i.e., muting the strings with the fret hand) rather than just tone.
My question is, is something actively going on with pedals while the Skank is being played, or is it just set on strong Wah, Reverb, etc. and the hands are doing the rest? If so, then a pedal won’t help me because Guitar Rig is already “On”.
Any suggestions and comments will be appreciated.
Thanks!
