DAYYYYYUUMM THOSE LOOK NICE AND THE PRICE IS SICKKKKKK!!!!!!!

what would you go with cab wise for my friend? the crate or the peaveY?
Me personally the Crate

and is that head better than the randall stack head i was lookin at earlier??
OH Hell Yes!
that is an all tube head
I would chose that head and cab over the Peavey Windsor
I would have recommended it sooner but I could not find any
If you are going to jump you better do it quick because someone will read this and jump on it.

mkayy!!!

well i just meant for the high gain death metal type stuff yaknow!??!

what a sick deal for a stack

My opinion....better off with the Peavey XXX. I'm not a fan of anything Crate. However, I must admit that the Crate 4x12 I have sounds pretty good with a Rectifier head on it. That Crate is a nice looking stack, though. I like the look of the cabs. I would certainly go with anything with tubes, before anything Solid state in your price range.

Oh Toke,

2 friends:

Jeff- the one I found the peavey xxx for (now just needs a cab)(under $250)

Nappy- the one I started this thread for, needs a head and cab.

so yea I was saying for Nappy is the randall SS better or this new crate? not is the xxx better than the crate hahahaha sorry for the confusion

Rogue, that does sound pretty good to meh!

hmmmmmmm...sooo

crate v100h and crate 412 for Nappy, instead of randal rx100rh stack?

and crate 412 instead of behringercab/windsorcab/ and ibanezcab?

1 more thing, straight or slanted ha

I can tell you that my Crate has been reliable as hell, though it is on Craigslist right now. I have heard some bad things about randalls reliability. I would recommend against the Behringer cab, though some may disagree with me---the jensens make it tempting.

well thats good to know!

what are jensen speakers? why are they good/bad?
do you know what speakers come with the crate?

all in all i guess the cab doesnt matter TO much, since its just a cab to get him on his feet for now..but id still like him to have the best he can afford =]

I've never played through them, but I'm pretty sure that Fender uses them in some of their amps, I think the Twin.
I'm recommending against Behringer because of the poor quality I've seen on some of their mixers and things I've heard of other products they make.

I know that the speakers that were in my Crate GT1200h were just Crate speakers.

also, since hes most likely gonna go with this, hell have sum money leftover, is there any pedals he should look at to help make the amps tone even better(i guess this would mean gainier, chunkier, more pronounced)?

ts9?
overdrive?
distortion?

gracias

Dude if your talking about the Crate all tube head, should have plenty of what you need without pedals. See how it sounds and buy a ts9 if you still think you'll need it afterwards, but I doubt you will.

aightttt word, I just realized a noise supressor would prob be better anyway

I know this is gonna rub some the wrong way, but...

...Stay away from Crate heads.

Yes, enlighten me. My SS 120W was very good to me, granted not a tube, but still a great head, very reliable and roadworthy--solid construction. Seperate EQ's for each of 3 channels--well kinda, I don't know of a better deal for that price on a stack. It has some kinda preamp tube simulator as well, though I don't think it really comes close to an all tube amp. Anyway, what problems have you had with them?

Say What?
Yes please enlighten me too
Aparently you have never played through a Blue Voodoo or a little V33 for that matter:p

Aside from them sounding like shit?:D

Just my opinion.;)

I have to disagree, I do not claim to have played all of their amps, except the solid state I have owned and a short session with a blue voodoo, so maybe they don't stand up to a JCM9000 or some Mesa heads, but I think for the money these are great reliable amps and even know Im selling my crate stack I do not regret buying it. But hey, lets agree to disagree:D
