Best PC Setup

I'm wanting the best quality hardware setup for my PC- I have a 2100 Athlon 512 DDR MSI K7T266 Pro 2 mobo. I'm needing some hardware information..A buisness partner and I just seperated and I have condencser mics...I'm just wondering what kinda sound card i should get with some pre amps if i need them..Any suggestions will be very appreciated.


I can get my hands on any software that I wish..I already have Sound Forge and i'm loaded with plug ins..

Software piracy is common enough, but NOT appreciated around here. Thought I would let you know.

You didn't notice what's your goal, what you will do, what kind of music you'll work on, will you use MIDI, how much budget you will spend, etc... these info's are very usefull for us to help you. IMHO, you better use legal copy of software for sure.

It is however, perfectly legal to buy a used copy of software from someone, provided it was originally purchased legally, and you can register it in your name, and they remove it from their system first

I only mention that because I got that impression from your business partner reference.

Who Said Piracy?

I didn't say anything about piracy :-\ It just comes along with family owning a computer buisness...

Anyways...I will most likely be doing bands and hip- hop and I want to stay in the 1500 range maybe even a little higher. I have the new Sonar "bought" with Izotope, Wave Gold and T-Racks 24..I'm just lacking the hardware.
