Best Of What?

Hey, I'm new to all this 'producing' stuff, and I would just like to know from some people who know what their talking about, what is the best (and cheapest) equipment I can get, for just creating some beats, and tunes? Hit me back with some suggestions!

i think it depends on if you want to use more software or more hardware. I personally use a combination of both...i think its key to have good hardware and software to use together. You can spend tons of money on shit but always an easy route is fruity loops/ fl studio its software and cheap and its an easy beat making program..
