hey thanks man i think i got it fixed, my cpu fan looked weird and none of my rams were connected right. my heat indicator went from blue to bright red after i was tugging at the motherboard trying to "get it back into place for reverbs to work". and my bios settings were all wrong, apparently(?). and my power supply had carbon marks on the back and on some of the wires to the optical media drives. and it smelled like metal dust in there from what i could tell as well as the regular dust. the guy said my computer looked like it had been through an explosion. now it works great.

the guy replaced all of the parts and now should work great when when i get it back, but man it cost me like 550 bucks! I guess i won't build it myself next time. :o :(
are you sure the guy just didnt rip you off. I still dont see what reverb and motherboard have anything to do with each other. and i dont see how you can connect your ram wrong. It will not boot if they are not seated right. ok so what is reverbs? is it the name of your PC?

What's the best brand of headphones to use post-lobotomy?

Oh man, I put a set of these babies on...
Now all e are mager cords and even miners sound full of dark.

Too much of the darkness stuff and it sucks the light right out! Nice touch, nice darness balance...not too black not to grey just dark.

Did I mention those are real midget skulls?
Makes the knobs kinda disproportionate and unwieldy, but it's so dark I can't tell the difference.

Yeah shit wasn't running correctly, then i got it back today and everything is good! I guess some of the rams weren't pushed all the way into the "Ram chips" or whatever those slots are, they just needed to be pushed into the slot all the way. Reverb is what makes professional recordings have depth. Without reverb you can't have depth and the song can't groove correctly. It all works fine now so I don't know I don't really ask questions. It was worht the money if the guy got the reverb working correctly isn't it???

I don't completely agree with that.....

You should indeed ask him questions just incase you run across the same problem in the future. For $550 was it worth it? Depends, but I highly doubt it.

Yes it sounds Like you definately got burned cuz for $550 US you could Buy yourself a whole new Computer System and you could solve the Problems that you said he fixed in just a few minutes....

I have Built all of my Computers accept for the Very First one and all of them were built for less than $500 .....

I guess if he replaced every single Part in your PC then it "Might" be worth it but I doubt it did that, I doubt he did anything more than get it working properly....

If your Ram wasn"t seated Properly Your PC wouldn"t Boot up Or the Ram wouldn"t work and if your PSU was Burnt out your PC wouldn"t Boot up and most all of the Connections in your PC will only connect one way so it is allmost impossible to connect something backwords and fry out the Component....

And becides all of this there is absolutly nothing on your Motherboard that would affect running VST Effects or Reverb and not affect anything else.....

I guess you Live and Learn and Hopefully learn for your Mistakes.....

Cheers

How is that even possible I paid around 2500 for my comp from him!? He knows what hes doing. He replaced some shit and added an awesome looking window on the side. It looks freakin awesome!

$2500 for an Athlon 64 3200+ w/ 2 gigs of ram? Your right, he does know what he's doing. He's raping you. I just bought a Athlon 64 3500+ with 1.5gb of ram for $400 at a retail store of all places. You shouldn't do business with whoever he is, sounds like a shady character. And also if your going to be doing PC based recording you should learn more about PC's.

WOW..$2500 for a PC?? I don"t think there is a PC that exists that is worth $2500 (Maybe a Mac but not a PC).....(I thought you said you built your own PC which is why it wasn"t working properly???)

You can Build yourself an Athlon 64 3200+ with 2 gigs of Ram with a Nice Windowed PC Case and a DVD Burner and a high end Gamers Video card and a Multi-Track Recording Sound Card with a couple 200GB Hard Drives for about $1000 US so I can not for the Life of me Figure out were the extra $1500 in Cost is comeing from .....

Ohh, I know , he is Putting his Kids through University, I mean "You" are putting his Kids through University.....

Well I hope it is Worth it to you to spend $2500 on a PC that is worth less than $1000 Because it sure was worth it to the Guy you Bought it from.....

Cheers

i guess it would all depend on when he bought it...if this was a couple of years ago...when the stuff was just out on the market..it might have ran almost that high..even then..he still stiffed you on labor.

But $550 to fix your problem is just flat out highway Fn robbery!
I can see making a little money for time and effort...but $550?...HELLS NO!
Seriously....find someone else to do your computer work!

why would you want to use your mothers board anyway?

my mom was never very good at dark e majer cords or d miners, no matter what pick she used, and even with the midget skull knobs cranked to 11.

I know rams can be stubborn, but I don't think that ramming your mothers board will produce the results you are hoping for.

I forgot to tell you guise, after installing my new midget skull knobs, I put a black light behind my amp, now all my majer and miner cords are dark and black. Since I play some black metal, this is somewhat desirable.

Wonder if you can help me...I'm looking for knobs with little angels weilding bloodied hatchets?

He sold me the parts and pre did a few things like screwing some stuff on. I bought it 1 1/2 years ago that's why it cost 2500(more like 23 or 24 something) with a 19" LCD monitor, dvd burner, with a 120gb hard drive cd burner, some fancy blue lights and 1gb ram, a nice gpu (which i sold later)with a nice printer he threw in for free that he didn't use anymore. It was off the hook homey. I think I did something to the ram chips when i ordered another 512k. Of course he or I fucked up the power supply it had black marks on it. I still think it was a great deal man. I still can't get the flop drive to work, maybe because it's a dud?

anyways reverb works great and it didn't turn red this time so all is good in my land!!Q He fuckin hot rodded the thing!

Still sounds like a big rip off to me, but as long as it works for you who's complaining? Look your hardware up online to get a general idea how much it's worth next time you go to buy a PC or PC parts it will save you from being ripped off in the future.
