I'm a singer or should I say I want to be a singer

I've sung at churches and local clubs and I am currently looking to buy my own Mic with a stand and since I'm an absolute novice I was wondering if anyone here knew what he top of the line brand in Mics were

any help would be appreciated thanx

Neumann, Sennheiser, Audio Technica. The list is long, but those are the better ones.

I think you might be better off starting with a Shure SM-57, unless your piggy bank is overflowing with wads of cash.

I'm assuming you are talking about a mic for live applications?
If that's the case you might check into Eletravoice N/D series.
I have had a couple and I thought they did great, and they pretty much kill any feedback problems you may have had.

Plus they are pretty cheap. Around $150.00

I'm a big fan of the Sennheaiser evolution series mics. Strong and rugged like the old 58, yet a little clearer I find.
I use them over my sm 58 all the time for vocals. They're alright for recording too, if you don't have anything else.

I agree with Neil.
I've used 58's but the Sennheiser blows them away in clarity.
