Best method to record distorted guitar...

hehe, i know about trs and ts,
i just thought that maybe you could also use an Insert cable as a Y cable since they look the same (trs on one side, two ts jacks on other side)
but Insert has an IN and OUT .... was curious since my insert cables are from much better quality than my Y cables...

ps, very very nice site about cables,,thanx, ...enjoying the reading over her e!
