Howdy. I'm stuck with PT m-powered and I'm looking to upgrade my Delta 66 card. What is the best sounding card that m-audio makes. I don't need many inputs (minimum of 4).

Excuse my ignorance, but I don't know how to interpret the specs.

the Delta 66 IS the best 4 (analog) input card M-Audio makes.

The firewire 18/14 would be an option. Or for the extra cash, the Project Mix.

So the Delta 66 is the best sounding converter?

Looked at the firewire but don't think I need that many I/O. How do I interpret the specs on say the 410?

if you want your card to convert better.....
perhaps a Word Clock Generator like the Lucid GenEx 96/6 superclock is what
you might consider...
I have one with my Delta 10/10 and I swear it makes a difference.
Good luck,
Joe

I own the 410, so that I can critique. Its labled as 4 in, 10 out, hence 410. To me, what it actually is is 2 in, 2 out. I say that because if you use the two inputs on the back, the two on the front are disabled. It can take 4 ins if you use the digital in's on the back...if you have anything digital to go into it.

The extra outs are for surround sound mixing and you could probably set up some different monitoring if you wanted to with it.

Its a good box, but the 4 in is a bit misleading.

I use the Delta 410, I primarily use the 2 analog ins and the 8 analog outs running to my board. Though as I understand it, the SPDIF I/O adds an extra set of both. Could be misleading, but not really.

That's not entirely true.
