Hello,
I need to know what computer laptop or desk top will allow me to record my music with the least amount of problems. I have an Adat and mixer...some effects ect. I want to record drums and bass scratch track on the Adat...no problem there. This is where I need help. I would like to dump those drum tracks(all 8) directly to a PC via TOS link, to mix the drums down( a laptop would be great...portability and space are a concern) then record directly into the computer the rest of the stuff...guitar, bass , vocals ect. At that point I think I would only need to record 2 tracks at a time.
Ok the million dollar question...! Is there a laptop that can be purchased that will allow me to do this without adding a seperate interface? If not...what interface would do the best job? What means will it connect ( fire wire....expansion card???). Please keep in mind I'm just an amature and what to spend my time recording not going through manuals for hours and trouble shooting hardware or calling help lines...you know. And lastly, what will it cost between the computer and interface (if needed)
and where is the best place to purchase the items? Thanks for your input.
