I'm just finalising a bedroom Mac G4 based studio project. I have a new Digi 002 audio/midi interface on order with Pro Tools LE as the sequencer.

As I have limited space, I am looking for ONE single keyboard that has:
- Midi Controller,
- good synth with own sounds (piano is important
- 3/4 to full size weighted keyboard

As I will be using pro tools as the sequencer, I really don't need an on board sequencer. However, I really like the look of the Motif and triton. Is there a 'board that you guys could recomend that has all the features/qualities of these two, but without the on board sequencer? I might also be able to use the sampling capability too, so that could also be an important factor. I have approx $1500 to spend here...but haven't really got a clue!

Thanks for your help, much appreciated from a 'newbie' .

cheers!

Go to a music store and try out some portable digital pianos.

There are many 88 weighted full sized keybeds attached to many fine sounding instruments out there.

Yamaha
Roland
Kurzwiel
Korg

All make something that might just fit your exact needs.

They stick a sequencer on all flagship keyboards these days. Just ignore it.
