Hey guys,

I need new headphones and I wanna spend not more than $100. So, any recommendations? I read that AKG's K240S and K240M are very good. Any opinions? Other ones I should check out?

Cheers,

This has been covered a lot on this BBS. Do a search first.

The AKG's are a good choice. Also, I just got a pair of the Sony MDR-7506 and they're really good as well.

I just accidentally destroyed my tried and true Sennheisers that I've had forever. They weren't any good for acoustic work as they are, er, WERE open ear, but they were sooooooooooooo comfortable!! I'll miss them. (As a side note, always be careful to pick up your headphone cable before vacuuming! :( .)

Yo Oh Feanor VI of Feanorilla:

For a few pezzutos more, you can get the Beyer 250s--comfortable and closed back. They also have a mini plug under the 1/4 inch plug for whatever.

Nice cans but at last check they were about 133 pezzutos; who gnus? Maybe the price has dropped?

Green Hornet :D  :D

I use the AKG K240S which are semi-open (semi-closed?) and are fairly neutral and very comfortable. For closed headphones I would look at Sennheiser HD-280. Both can be found for $90-$100.
