I am looking for the best guitar rack effects for under $250.

I would consider a floor unit as well as long as its on/off switch wasnt dependant on removing the 1/4" from the input ( I hate that crap )

I just want something to get a good range of sounds for versatile recording.

It also has to have a good rectifier distortion and preferably something that has user patches online.

Was considering the V-amp Pro.

I am sure that it is a good unit, but I am looking for the best unit in my pricerange. Can someone please give me pertinent advice?

( note: good advice does not include " behringer sucks so don't buy it." or " w "you should just spend $500 over your budget and get such and such unit" )

Johnson J-station $100. great for recording, way better than the behringer pro (which I also own)

Hello....
have you actually played with the V amp-pro (rack)?
it works in studio or live systems....and it's reasonable, and some would say (including me) incredible for the price.

And it also utilises 'patch' files, downloadable/swappable from the net.

That should be well and truly be within the range?

anyways....let us know how you get on.
Regards,
Superspit.

thanks! I checked it out and found it on ebay for the price you were stating. Do you know where I can get any sound clips made with this model? Thanks.

Do you know how the v-amp online user patches work? Is it transferred with a midi cable? Or is it just a description of how to dial in the sound. Can you do anything like that with the Johnson?? Thanks.
