Flapo,

The rhythm guitarist in my band is the principal at Heights. Hope you didn't cause him too much grief while you were there!

Man... it's a small small world (come to think I live in Mexico and were in Wichita for about 6 months during 1991)

RUSH- Moving Pictures

Fleetwood Mac- Mirage

Buckingham/Nicks- awesome acoustic guitar and harmony tracks.

Steely Dan- Aja

Men at Work- Business as Usual

Surfers Rosa of The Pixies deseves a spot in here: Steve Albini did an excellent job.

I also discovered Tomahawk, the new Band from Mike Patton, and I really like the mix of that one too.

Other winners are the debut from RATM and Abey Road from the Beatles.

Btw, I am not a metal lover, but I must say the sound of latest system of a down really is in your face, but still melodic and not too crispy. A good job from Rick Rubin.

Concerning the Peppers, BSSM stays the best, By The SWsay is a hughe disapointment!

Jodeci - The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel
Dr Dre - Chronic 2001

The Verve - Urban Hymns

Chris Potter recorded and mixed this one....the songs really carry it anyway and with the tracking and work that Nick McCabe put into his guitar playing, it'd be hard to screw up anyways.

The perfect blend of productions, samples, and energy...I dig it...

Great nominations here.

My pics:
Winton Marsalis - Standard time Vol. 3 The Resolution of Romance
Steely Dan - Aja
Van Morrison - Moondance

I like most all of the nominations here so far.

As long as there's no one screaming! ;)

The DECCA Ring - the first complete recording of Wagner's tetralogy "Der Ring des Nibelungen", was and still remains a landmark in the history of recording. The recording was produced by John Culshaw, and (IMHO) stands as a supreme example of sound recording, mixing, and production.

Let me add a few more to my list.

Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" (Was once voted #1 best sounding rock album of all time by some stereo magazine)...

Green Day.....Dookie.

Yeah!

Beck's "Mutations" album definitely deserves to be here. Nigel Godrich is pretty awesome. And I'll also go with the cliche "Dark Side Of The Moon" by Floyd. And what about XTC's "Nonsuch" album. That CD sounds great... I don't think anyone's mentioned that yet.
