Bellari tube (?) compressors

Hello! Can anyone tell me if the Bellari compressors are really tube as opposed to the behringer range which are virtually transistor with the tubes put in just for show!!??
 
They’re a traditional high voltage design rather than the starved-plate types, so the tube is definitely an active part of the circuit. A lot of people like what they do to the sound, especially with the simple mods you can find on the web.

Cheap Chinese or Russian 12AX7 tubes are the weakest link in these devices.

I think PAIA offers one of the best low cost tube pres out there, though it is starved-plate. It comes in kit form so you have to build it, but it's very well designed... sounds great with the following mods, which I have done on mine:

yes they are "real" tube compressors. I have an rp282a "dual tube compressor/limiter" here that I'll sell you if you want.
