Belden Wire Part Number

I've seen plenty of posts from people using Belden wire to build their own cables but haven't seen anyone reference a particular product code/number.

Wading through the Belden site is going to take all afternoon. Anyone here use Belden and know the product code for their generic 2 conductor w/shield microphone cable?

Ther is no point in running the quad stuff when using it as a balanced line. Capacitance is irrelevant so the 2t2 canare stuff will do very well. It has a lower resistance which is more important in balanced lines.
 
I actually have both the Canare star quad, and the Beldon.
The Canare is of obvious quality, and has worked out very well.
The only thing I don't like about it is the outer jacket. It seems more.... delicate than the Beldon.
For that reason, I like the Beldon for typical drag-'em-across-the-floor mic cables, and the Canare for in wall wiring.
At some point I'm going to make all my mic cables from the Canare, just to have it all matched.
But for good quality wiring, you can't throw rocks at either one. They're both great.

I'm going to make some balanced patch cables and a few extra long mic cables. I thought I had decided on some 2 wire plus shield cable (belden or canare) and then I saw a few threads mentioning the star quad stuff.

Still can't decide if the star quad is necessary, and some folks have posted that star quad is not a good choice for longer cables.
 
Phyl, are you in a high RF area like near TV or radio broadcast towers or near power substations or the like?
 
No, I'm in a residential neighborhood. Nothing like you mentioned is near by.

I ended up getting some Mogami 2549 from Performance Audio in Salt Lake City. It's 2 wire plus shield cable.

For anyone in the Salt Lake City area, Perfortmance Audio is a great place to shop, godd selection, good prices.
