Behringer: To be, or not to be.

Well folks, I just heard yesterday that Sam Ash and Behringer just had a big falling out. Sam Ash will no longer be the distributor for Behringer, so until Behringer establishes a new distributor in the US, their products can no longer be ordered. I am sure stores will sell what they have in stock, but after that there is no more... at least for awhile.
 
I work at a Behringer dealer and from what I understand from my boss Behringer is now handling their own distribution and is not dealt with Samson anymore. Samson used to distribute Behringer but now both companies are on their own. Behringer wanted to lower prices even more to really hit the mackie boards hard, but Samson thought they were doing fine with current prices. So look for discounts soon.

While on the subject, ART got bought out by Yorkville. So a lot ART stuff is going really cheap right now, I am not really sure why, because they are keeping all ART products, at least as far as I know. But I just got a Dual MP (The rackmount one) for 119$. Talk about a deal.

Address, website, phone, whatever....

Also is the ART tube parametric eq any good?
 
I've confirmed what mastahnke said that Behringer will be doing their own distribution now, and are now in the process of making that happen.

Sam Ash owns Samson. Behringer does not have the dustribution infrastructure Sam Ash (Samson) has in the US. It will take Behringer a little while to reestablish its distrabution and market in the US. I doubt Samson shared any of its "Behringer" dealers with Behringer since all Purchace Orders in the US went to Behringer through Samson.

Well, my boss told it to me in passing one day. He had just read an article in some trade mag. All of our ART products are backordered right now too. When I find out more, I will let you know.

I, too, would love to know where you got the Dual MP for $119. I would love to pick one up for that price. C'mon man, spill the beans.

And I thought mine was a good buy at $249! :mad: I might even consider buying another for $119, or a Dual EQ if the price is right.
