behringer mic2000 to pc

i need help i tried connecting my preamp ultragain mic2000 to the computer and i dont get a mic signal. could this be because my output cables are balanced and not unbalanced cause i think im supposed to use unbalanced . somebody please give me some feedback it will be well appreciated.
