Behringer (I know) PEQ 2200

Hi.

I am considering buying this Param-EQ, to put between my guitar and my POD, and are now wondering if the EQ's output level matches the input level (which I think is pretty common) or does the EQ change the level of the signal????
In case this EQ can't be used before the POD, does anyone know of a CHEAP EQ that can???

Generally speaking, as one increases a frequincy on an EQ the output level will change/go up. what you propose, should not be a problem. If the outboard EQ has master gain controls, start out on the low side, play and adjust levels as needed.

Both owners manuals should be of good help on this.

Hmmm, I've downloaded both the Manual and the Texhspecs for this thing, and the only thing I can find in there, is that the input is switchable between +4db and -10db...
It says nothing about the output.... ??

The problem here is not levels but impedance. The Behringer EQ, like practically all rack gear, has a low impedance line in. If you plug in a guitar or bass it won't sound good. What you need is either an additional impedance converter such as a DI box or an EQ that has a high impedance ("Hi Z") input. Only few rack EQs have that (those old TC electronics parametric EQs come to mind). However, you can get a relatively inexpensive stomp box EQ. It won't have the flexibility of a rack EQ, but those stomp boxes are always high impedance.

DB do you have asmall mixer with an insert point on a channel?

@Muttley : No, unfortunately I don't... I go from guitar to POD, to Behringer (yeah, yeah, I know... ;-) ) UB1002, which does not have inserts.... I have an old (and gigantic) Samick 16-channel mixer lying in the basement though... Maybe I should consider using that one again... Except, that one doesn't have Hi-Z inputs either, which means that I still can't go from guitar to EQ to POD....

I have a Behringer mx3242x, and I like it for remotes, Don't be to hard on your self for having the UB.
Can you get an active Directbox? This will help you out. Countryman is the only one to have, about $160.00 in AMS.
You may be a young pup with limited resources, if you are close to a music/sound/recording store there are ones for $40.00-$70.00 each. Audition them first!! before buying, some of them can be real noisy. May not at first, but as time passes they can get that way, borrow from someone to check it out, some use battery's, so you bring your own fresh battery!!

Hmmm, first off, no, I am not a young pup... ;-)
I have been playing for 20 years or so, and are married and have two children, and financially, I'm not too limited, I guess...
The thing with the directbox is, that I get my Hi-Z turned into line-level, before the EQ, which is ok, but I need to get the output-signal from the EQ turned into a Hi-Z again, because of the POD's input, right????

The +4db should eliminate the DI, +4 is mic level......

By any chance is the POD switchable???

You may have to consider another EQ or do what Rossi suggested,

Look in an Interstate music catalogue/guitar effects and you may have to get an MXR or DOD inline graphic EQ. Boss has a larger unit also. There's other brands these are an example.
