I ran across this: http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--BEHHA4700

And it looks to be pretty slick. Especially if you have cheap behringer headphones. Now you can control your bass and treble. Lol. Anyway... I know how it goes. Everyone hates Behringer... Well I got no beef with them right now... So what do ya think? Anyone got it? Worth the $107?

Or any alternatives? Could I get phono to 1/4 inch adapters and use this as a phono amp that way? Good/bad idea?

Whatsup?!

I have the version without all of the goodies on it. I love it. However, I have heard some bad things about this one. Apparently in their attempt to make it better, they cut a lot of corners.

What is the version you have? Gotta model number?

Thanks for the info...

I have the exact same unit. I only use it for band members to monitor with while tracking. It's a little bit noisy but as far as I'm concerned that does not matter for what we use it for.

As well as having a main stereo input, it also has an input for each channel. That enables me, due to the excellent capabilities of my sound card, to send indivudual headphones mixes to each band member. So the drummer gets more drums, the singer hears more vocals etc.

I looked around before buying it and there are a few more options on the market but non that would have allowed me to do what I've explained.

Myriad_Rocker sold me his 4700, besides the fact that he gave me a great deal on it, its a great unit for the money that they go for used or new. My only other option was the carvin one, which new they go for about twice the price as I got this one used. http://www.carvin.com/manuals/h400.pdf the carvin and behri trade features here or there, carvin in my book having slightly better features, but hay try to find one used.

Wonder which one will last longer?

I have the 4700. I think it works great. Just like Synkotron, I use it for band members to monitor while tracking. It's not pristine sound, but who really cares for a headphone amp? I don't have high end headphones for everybody either.....

I think it's worth the money.

I have a 4700 as well. It gets used every time I'm in the basement.
Great unit for the price. Mine is 2 years ole and haven't had any problems with it yet.

I have used 7 sets of headphones on it at one time.
The stereo/mono switch is a nice feature.

I have 4 of the HA4400's linked together in seperate rooms and I haven't had a problem at all with any of them. They've been in constant action for over two years. Don't exactly know about the model you're looking at though.

I have one and for what I use it for it's been fine. I don't think there's many alternatives that are as cheap and have as many functions.

I have this model, and it has worked fine for a couple of years. I had to exchange the first one I received, though, because of a noisy channel. Samson has a similar model that you may want to compare.
