I'm looking into getting a euro-power 1500 to power my line 6 cab...the cab is 300 watts, the ep is 700 per side...Would this overload the cab? thanks.

What Ohm is the cab and what Ohm dose the amp put out.

Sure, if the amp is rated at 700 watts at 4 ohms and you have a 8 or 16 ohm cab, you would be safer. Find out what the output is for the amp at your cabinets rated resistance.

The specs on the amp are:
2 ch @ 2 ohm = 700 w / ch.
2 ch @ 4 ohm = 450 w / ch.
2 ch @ 8 ohm = 280 w / ch.
(Bridged @ 2 ohm = 1400 w)
The specs on a Line6 4 x 12 cab loaded with Celestions suggest that in any configuration there should be no more than 300 watts. The resistance range is 2 - 8 ohms mono and 4 - 16 ohms stereo.
If you load the cab with one channel of the amp @ 8 ohms you are within spec on everything. And if you load it with two channels as a stereo setup you will probably still be in spec unless you are pinning the amp, because the best sound is going to happen with the amp running cool - about 1/3 power. You will avoid clipping the amp's signal which could do tons of damage to the cab. I think the amp seems matched pretty well to the cab. A little beefy maybe, but just don't get greedy with the gain. Use the extra power as headroom instead.
I suppose YMMV and if you crank it and blow the Celestions, please don't send me any of the repair bills....

i mean are there any other poweramps i could use? I'd like it to be on musiciansfriend so i can buy it all on the credit card with 12 mos no interest.
it was cheap and seemed to have lots of headroom. but, if there is something better i'd get it.
