Behringer Condenser mic and MR8

I just bought a Behringer B2 Pro condenser mic, along with the MR8. The B2 is a condenser mic that needs phantom power. The MR8 does not provide phantom power. I am looking for a low cost phantom power unit that is safe to use with the MR8. Does anyone have any experience with this and could recommend a unit, hopefully based on some practical use and experience? I also bought a Shure SM57 so am ready to go once I get this phantom power thing figured out. Thx, Ken

For phantom power needs, I picked up a Yamaha MG10/2 mixer off Ebay for about $75... Not only do I get the phantom power for my condensers, but I'm also richer a few more channels to mix into the MR8 and some of the cleanest mic pre's out there for the buck...

You'll find that you will be lacking some headroom when you record tracks with mics (even with your 57) so the pre's are a great addition...

Other folks will chime in with their choices, but I've been happy with my MG10/2

Lots of folks use a behringer mixer like the ub802 (aprox $50) you get two channels with phantom power and a little bit of eq.

I use the DMP3 (aprox $160). No eq, but a little better pres.
 
MR8 and Yamaha MG10/2

Thx for the help. Just picked up a Yamaha MG10/2, and so far, it appears to be a lot of bang for the buck. On another note I've been checking out the new mini series of outboards Behringer is coming out with in a couple of months. Anybody seen anything further in advance of this other than what's on the B website? They look perfect for small recording efforts for demo stuff. Also, besides this forum and the stuff on the Fostex website is there any other info source or forum out there more specific to MR8 use? Thx. Ken
