Has anyone hear had much of a chance to explorer the range of expressions that can be created with the Behringer Bass V-Amp? I'm about setup, and I'm thinking about Bass (Epi Les Paul Special) into the V-Amp, into Echo Mia, recording in either ACID Pro 4 or Sound Forge 6 and then cleaning up in Sound Forge.

Does this sound reasonable? I'm very much the novice.

HEY THERE YOU MIDWESTERN-ER!!!

hows lawrence treating you? ahhh....kansas.....i miss it so. im from medicene lodge. bet you know where thats at :D

but im livin in pa now. oh well.

I'm really a guitar player, and I wasn't satisfied with the lack of organic feel I was getting from the Roland Guitar Synthesizer's bass sounds. So I figured any bass would have more soul than the synth... so I bought the cheap Epi Les Paul Special bass - two EMG Select passive pickups are reasonable, and I don't have to keep 9v batteries around.

Back in '85 I was doing standup comedy and a radio station was doing a talent contest - I kept coming in second to this little gal from Medicine Lodge named Martina Schiff... she moved off to Tennesse, married some clown named McBride...

There's all kinds of neo-folkies in Lawrence that want 0 to do with any kind of 'legtricity.

I'm more of a shaved-head "I was gothic before you brats ever heard of the color black" skandi-metalhead lovin', how the hell did Ynwie do THAT?, loved that organ riff from "Rollerball" kind of cat.

aaaaahhhhhh thats right.....

lawrence......got a pretty big punk scene, only makes sense :D

...atleats i think its lawrence

but thats pretty much all of kansas.....or as my dad says "cans ass"

not sure why though :D

OK, I've got one, and I really ought to drop some .wav files onto a website, and ask y'all what you think of the presets, 'cause I can't tell you much about 'em. The manual (english one anyway) doesn't give them names nor settings, they're just kind of there. There are some nice thick presets, a funky little synth sound (although I prefer the TB-303 option on my Roland Guitar Synth for that), and a few nice delayed bass options as well.

I need to get to recording to stretch this bad boy out a little bit, as well as work on my bass chops.

Let me see what I can put together in the next few weeks.

Is your V-Amp specifically for bass, or is it a regular V-Amp? I didn't know they made one for bass.

Yep, it's the Bass V-Amp. Part of the reason there isn't a lot of discussion on the thing is because it's rather new...

I have had the thing only a week or so, and my work schedule hasn't permitted me to roll with it much. I do have a Behringer V-Amp2 for my guitar, and a Digitech Genesis3 that I might get around to messing with too, but the Bass V-Amp is where I'm at right now. The price was a helluva lot cheaper than buying an Ampeg head and cab setup, and I disturb the neighbors a lot less.

I have a V-Amp2 also and I love it. I was trying to use it for my bass......but my bass developed a short somewhere so I gotta get that fixed. It was working fine up to that point. I'm gonna have to check into the bass model though.
Back when I was giggin (long time ago) one of my fellow 6 stringers was usin an Ampeg amp as a boat anchor! LMAO

The thing that frustrates alot of people, in my opinion, regarding things like V-amps and effects, is the lack of online .mp3's and .wav files that give the prospective buyer the chance to listen to the presets. I understand that the goal of these manufacturers is to get the prospects into the store where the seasoned professional salesperson can get them in front of the unit, plug it into a PRS or 56 Gold Top Les Paul, then come out through Marshall Stack and say "Doesn't that sound fantastic".

I want something simple. Plug in an average axe into the stock unit and record it into a an audio card. Save it as a file and stick it up here on the internet, with a description of the presets.

It's so simple, it's hard I guess.

If the manufacturers did that, you would not consider buying their units. I have so many of these things from over the years, They all record and sound like shit. The new ones just add 8-track recorders and other useless shit. Just give me killer sound, that is all I want.

That's why I always check out the equipment here on board.....real users.

That's why whenever people ask me for samples of my modelers, I always record them using my crappiest intruments... my $175 Yamaha Pacifica, and my only bass, which is a really cheap Peavey.

By the way Charger, I think you do a superb job with the samples.

OK, so I goes to the Behringer website and download the editor for the V-Amp. Here's my question. Once I decide to start playin around with these sounds, how do I go about gettin the edited parameters into the V-Amp? The manual doesn't say, and neither does the documentation that I downloaded with the editor.
