what about this mic, reviews seem to be really good and its so affordable?

I Just Got My B-5 Yesterday . I haven't recorded anything with it
yet but I did a comparison with the only other condenser I have
the SP C-1, with Sony mdr750 headphones on, and all I used was
my voice so far. The self noise semed to be less than my C-1 which is pretty quiet to me. It seems to be a little darker sounding
than the C-1, it doesn't seem to be shrill at all like some other Behringer mics do according to some people on this forum. With the cardioid capsule on, it seemed to be real sensitive to breath noises it sounds like you are blowing on the capsule on purpose,
but with the supplied wind screen it helped quite abit, I haven't tried it with a pop filter yet but I think it would be a must for vocals. With the Omni capsule on, it didn,t seem to be near as sesitive to breath noises . It appears to be well built so far, I'll try and get some recordings in the next week to see how the B-5 works out.

Phylbee, why would you get a B5 unless you actually tried and determined that it sounded better to you than the MC012 and the MXL603? The MC012 is dirt cheap ($50) and is actually CHEAPER than the Behringer "copy" ($80). That's kind of funny actually.

I don't have anyplace near me that carrys any mics like these, the closest place is about 1.5 hrs away. So I got it from musicians friend if I don't like it I can send it back. The mic has a cardioid capsule and an omni with it, to me that would make up for the price .

It may be a decent mic - who knows? I'm expecting it to be as good as the 603, so its like getting a low-cut switch, a -10dB switch, and an omni cap for $10! That's not a bad deal, even if it is Behringer. The Behringer "moral un-support" issue is another thing altogether, though. Knowing what I know about it, I can't say that I'm dieing to rush out and support them.
