Great forum guys, I've learned a lot. I have a modest home studio consisting of a Fostex VF-16 and a Roland VS840. I mix through an RCA A/V receiver and a pair of vintage Akai 3 ways. Great sounding stereo but.... a nice mix done on this system may or may not sound decent on other sound systems. I've made the decision to get a set of active monitors but I'm torn between the Behringer Truth B2031 and the Alesis M1MK2, about 5 bills is all my budget can stand right now. Has anybody done an A-B comparison on these monitors? I sure would appreciate any input you guys might have. I do mainly instrumentals driven by acoustic and amped harmonica....Blues and Country, lots of guitar, Roland GR-33 synth, electric bass, yada, yada, yada. Thanks a lot folks.

go with the Behringer monitors. i'm about to get a pair myself. the truth monitors sound great, and they're only $399 for the pair, which is a great price. i'd get them over the alesis any day.
