I have a Behringer B-1 mic. What do u think of this mic. (NOT THE COMPANY)

How do you feel it performs?

I have a Behringer B1.
I seems quite good at recording acoustic guitar and vocals in most cases, although it's the first and only condenser I've purchased, so I can't really comapare it to anything else.

It doesn't do so good at recording my guitar amp though, I get a better recording using my £15 Hitachi microphone.

I'm going to buy an SM57 and 58 soon, does anyone know if these would be better than the Behringer B1 or worse?
Using the 57 for my electric guitar and maybe acoustic, and 58 for vocals.

I have the B1 and some 57's. It really depends on what sound you're after. I almost always use a 57 on my amp (I like it better than my e609 most of the time). I have used the 57 for vocals, but I don't like it. I have a kinda mellow voice, and the B1 works well with it. But it is a little shrill in the highs. I can usually get a good vocal sound with the B1, a little compression, and a little EQ. As for acoustic, I am yet to get a sound I like with either of those mics individually. I actually like a pair or 57's a little better (percussive playing).

the B1 was my first condenser and I always liked it on vocals and hi hat (or overheads)

The SP B-1 is my fav all around mic, it works good to great on everything. I bought mine when they were $80 bucks a couple or so years ago. I liked it every bit as good as my SP C-1 which was twice as much money. I no longer have the C-1, but I still have my B-1 for a reason and I wont be getting rid of it no matter what other mics I purchase in the future. It's funny, some people rant about cheap condensor mics, yet have no problem accepting the fact a $90 Shure SM-57 is a great pro mic ... even though there are dynamic mics costing 5, 10, 20 times as much.
