Hello everyone!

I'm very new to computer recording. I just bought a macbook pro and when I realized this is a great computer to do some home recording (mainly on guitar) on I thought it would be a good idea to purchase a Interface audio system.

I went to guitar center and purchased a Tascam US-144. I was told it would be very simple to install, however I am having trouble. I installed the software and tried updating the drivers (not sure if I have the latest one)

I have a guitar, cable, my tascam-144, the usb wire, and my macbook pro.

My firmware and drivers are the latest.

I have a US-144, and you should be able to use it in 2x2 mode with just the native OSX drivers. What the Tascam drivers do is allow you to use a couple extra channels.

You don't describe the trouble you are having with the unit.

If you are new to Macs, you need to go into the control panels and select the Tascam as your default audio I/O device. You can also do this in the Audio Midi Setup application.
