before eq &compression

i'm getting alot of noise in some vocals such as hiss sounds or just sound from my mixer so if i was to use noise reduction on the vocals, should i use it after eq and compression or before? does it make a diference?

I typically use it first, certainly before compression, otherwise the compressor will raise the noise floor, and that might make it tougher on the noise reduction plug.

But first I would investigate the source of the noise, it might be curable.
