Navy, almost wish I had joined the Army. I did an individual augmentee tour with the Army in Djibouti, Africa for 8 months, I had a total blast with them. Not that I completely regret joining the Navy, but the Army has camaraderie we don't. Like enlisted and officers eating in the same dining facility. Unheard of on ships, even E-6's have their own separate mess. I thought it was awesome sitting next to a major or a captain shootin the shit with them over a meal! Even the command structure was easy, no "jumping the chain" rules really applied, and a lot of the time my superiors were fixin stuff right along side me.
That and the Navy just seemed like a job with a uniform to me. I'm still glad I did join the Navy, I learned a ton and it gave me time to get into music, but I started thinking of it as a job instead of duty, which is where it lost it's appeal to me. Especially that as an e-5 I was pretty much at the end of the line as far as being a technician goes. I love being able to work on equipment (radios mostly for me) and not have to supervise people, but one more promotion and I'd be a supervisor... I can't STAND dealing with people and paperwork!!!
sorry for the life story haha!
