Cool track, I really like the full bodied arps. I could have used more thud n the kicks but listening on phones so probably not. It has lots of action which I prefer in this genre, great job!

And, welcome to Philly when you get here. You'll probably like it more than you think, it's an under-rated city, especially for music lovers.

Cheers Phil

I might get slated but I love it, I love gimmicks anyway...but one or two of the emulations have made me forget I have cans on and have me reaching for the volume control.

I wouldnt mix on it, not sure youre meant to...but I enjoy tracking with it as it has my monitors in there...its also great for mix referencing and using as a grot box. My headphones were also matched with it so maybe that helps.

Theres some software I tried thats as good...but I can use this as a headphone amp/audio interface and that helps drive my cans which are 250ohms when Im "on the road". I have focusrites liquidmix too, I like this technology.

I got a Saffire Pro 24 DSP with the VRM built in and some sennheiser HD280 pro headphones. It was kind of a gamble, but it's a real upgrade from the Fire Studio Mobile I was using. First things I noticed is better sounding conversions from Wav to MP3. I mixed a song using the VRM and was able to get just as good results if not better than using average monitors like the KRK Rockits or Yamahas I normally use. Keep in mind that's my amateur perspective on it LOL. By the time I'm done with the VRM it doesn't sound too bad on my crappy computer speakers which is a good thing as I listen to most music on the crappy speakers :D

Hey thanks for the listen. i know what you and Rob mean by the drums, but I deliberately reigned them in. I did with another track too but if they all go on an album together Ill have to balance them out more.

I like Philly, I was there for a couple of months at the beginning of last year. its a little rough but Ive lived in rougher. Its more the beach and weather Im goung to miss...shits as cold as Canada this year!

I think the best thing about it is being able to reference in different rooms etc...some of them, like the TV in the living room, really are realistic. The bedrooms a bit too reverby but the studio gives you loads to work with. I think your versions deeper as you can position the listener? Wish I had that option too.

Genelecs, vxt, NS10s and american passives are my faves....i have a pair of auratones and the emulations sound pretty close too

In south east asia with limited equipment and a new daughter...but still managing to record some stuff

Dunno if itll be anyones cup of tea...meant to be Georgio Moroder meets the Nazis

Ill fix the mix when i get back to the States next month, any comments mostly welcome :D

Hey! First off, let me say I'm glad you weren't on that Malaysian plane that vanished into thin air! Or more likely, plummeted into the sea. :(

Finally got around to checking this one. I don't have much to say about it. It seems pretty spot on. Good balanced mix. Not as "textured" as your other stuff, but solid. I'm really consistently amazed by how you do this stuff. It's so far away from my own thing. I can't even begin to wrap my head around it. I wouldn't even know where to start. I like that I get to hear it with no ideas of what it's "supposed" to sound like. If someone posts a punk mix, I can be like "well this doesn't work, that is good, blah blah". But with your music, I can just listen. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It's like you ran out of stuff to do and it just kind of ends. But other than that, well done.

I can hear a long descending arpeggio starting at about 5.18 that just slams into the last note a few second later. I can hear a huge slow delay on that last note.

No you can't!

I fly with them on Wednesday...Im thinking terrorstanists, no other reason for no maydays etc?? Two passengers had stolen passports...chinese muslim separatists Im guessing.

Thanks Greg for listening again. Im lucky enough to have a background liking other music so it makes me arrange this shit slightly different from EDM artists. I hope to make electronic music for people who dont like electronic music...means i have to at least make it more interesting than just a build up with a drop.

Thing is I can make a rock tune, or even a punk tune...it just sounds shit. Every genre involves different disciplines. Id never shine at what you and others do...I just dont have that level of talent. Thankfully synths seem to work better for me, theyre definitely easier to make sound good in a mix...guitars are hard as fuck ;)

My 13 yr old is like, Oh hey, that's SuperJakes!! That kind of makes you famous. :)

Its great that folks kids and that even some grown men can like a track or two...but really Im trying to make my target audience 25 year old single girls

Who like overweight baldy scots

But they have to be pretty

And dont mind the fact im married

Anyway better get working on another tune them ;)
