Bedroom track recorded quickly

Vocal are to high in the mix in the begining and the S's need to get a bit more under control. Once the piano sound comes in the vocals aren't as out front and fit better. I would personaly back down the scratchy record sound some. It could be cool, but at the level it's at it becomes iritating pretty fast. I would start it high if you want then fade it down or out, one of the two. I'll leave it at that, I listened on my space and that tends to effect the sound quality pretty bad, Sooooooo take it for what it's worth. I only saw a download option on spread-it an I don't know them or you so I declined that avenue.



Hope I did not beat you up too bad. Just my opinion on the mix.

The scratchy sound isn't an effect. The drums are taken from my Optigan and that is how they sound.

Bizzare! :eek: Had to look that one up. So it's like a sampler that used a grooved medium similar to a record. Never seen nore heard of one. I assume the discs have worn over time like a record.

Pretty cool to have one of those :)

optigan

It's similar to a record, but uses the same method of sound storage as optical film stock. They always sounded pretty crackly due to the way they work. It's quite bizzarre how any imperfections sound exactly like a record though.

The vocal was recorded without the use of a pop shield. I usually avoid this, but I sang so quietly and still compressed my voice quite heavily. I don't usually like overly sibilant vocals, but I think it works nicely for the intimate style of this song.

dark stuff man. i likes. i heard monsters quite a while ago and i dig it too. i like your style and those organs are creepy in a good way. i like the slow gallop of that optigan. your music reminds me of a short animation series called Salad Fingers.......(i think).
