Listened and liked it.

Has some noticeable hiss.
Wondering what this was recorded on & production details?
Thx./DA:eek:;)

The hiss was done on purpose. So was the vinyl record sounds. It was done on a laptop in reaper. I thoght it sounded too clean, so I dubbed it off onto a cassette tape, then back onto the computer. After that, i ran it through a vinyl simulator, and then added the needle drop sound, and the runout groove. Everything in the song is intentional, including the lack of reverb, and the overloaded vocals.

If all of that was intentional, then it's cool... I have nothing to add. Only why is this listed under the electronica genre? :D

My guess is that's your default and you didn't change it...

That's a trip,...

man!..................;)

That needle groove thing kinda threw me, alright.

That's one hissy cassette you got there! You should get it checked!.........;)

Vinyl simulator! Now I've heard e'thing!!.........;)

Too clean of a recording doesn't sound like a bad thing!

Even the Beatles were Hifi for their day!!.........;)

I wanted it to sound gritty. I know the beatles were hi-fi for their time, but I didn't really want to be. All of the instrumentation sounded to clean to my ears. I wanted some hiss. Heck, george harrison loved tape hiss. And yes, electronica is my default.

Fake drums sound fake.

Vocals and guitar sound fine.

Not a fan of the tape hiss, there's other ways to get that "older" sound without using noisy cassettes.

I've never heard this song before. This is a Beatles song?

Anyway, good job on fudging a vintage sound. I think the record player stuff is kinda cheese, but it's funny. Music and vocals sound pretty good.

Yeah, this song is on The White Album. Its a pretty short (this guy made a longer version) little diddy.

It's actually one of Paul's few real rockers. I don't know if he wrote it but his growl in the middle of the song always blows my socks off.

The youtube quality doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea.

Fucking love @ 0:25 and that falsetto.

Have to admit to inadvertently lifting that for Satan Love Song

Never heard it? Are you kidding me? Where've you been?

The Beatles were doing a rave up Ramones tribute on that tune, man!

That's got Paul's fingerprints on it,... at his rockin' best! I like Paul's sappy melodic stuff, but he had a harder rock side to 'im. I love that Ringo guy, too. Man, he was the best drummer! So damn steady and understated. Perfect for the Beatles format. Those are great old tracks. Love it.;)

I think the Beatles really had it going on!

Very cool experiment!
Nicely done, too.
The Beatles wrote some GREAT songs..... this one wouldn't make my top ten.

Peace!

I've been listening to the Stones, The Animals, and The Who. The Beatles are girl pop. :D

Yeah. This song is good though. There are some loud rocking Beatles tracks and they really do deserve most of their rep.

Nice! With a great vintage sound, too. I loved the White Album and I grew up with the Beatles (yeah, that old.....). Well done!

Cheers

:D:D:D:D:D

You missed out on a lot of good stuff, Greg, by being born too late. ;):D

Good job on the song, propman. I have the original vinyl album, but it isn't quite as hissy and scratchy as you have posted. ;)

If you want to hear REAL scratchy and hissy....I should post a direct digital copy of a few tracks from the vinyl ablum I own....Rolling Stones 12 x 5 that was released in 1964.

It'll make your neck hairs stand on end! :D

Vocal and lead guitar are great. Good feel to it overall.

Acoustic rhythm gtr sounds too compressed. Piano sounds good when it comes in! Bass also. Drums sound fake. The occasional distortion on the vocal sounds OK... adds to the intensity and live feel. Man, that lead guitar at 1:40 sounds hot.

The vinyl noise is overdone, but it still sets a "vintage" tone, so... OK. I have a turntable I got just for playing a collection of LPs I "procured" (including the White Album, heh) and it's pretty damn quiet.

I know the white album, and a lot of others was not as hissy. I have the white album on vinyl and have listened to it a BUNCH. It is just the way I wanted it to sound. I wasn't trying to copy anything.
