I'm anxious to get some feedback on this one. I've been working on it for about 2 or 3 weeks and was really glad to see this thread come up.

Man, there's little forgiveness in recording fretless instruments! It was not easy hitting the target notes on bass and lap steel. How aggregious is it to you? Maybe I should try that thing I heard about... um, practice!

I hope this doesn't get lost in the thread cuz like I said, I'd really appreciate some feedback!

Addendum:
Oh yeah, I plan to have my 17yr old daughter add some vocal tracks. Giving her something to work on as a vocal exercise was the motivation for doing this.

Tell me about it!! Head over to my Christmas thread and hear my fretless bass gyrations! :D :D

Nicely done, man! Can't wait to hear the vocals!

I just finished my own version of Come Together. It needs a solo or two, but I am out of time till after the first of the year for this. So, here it is....
Come Together

I think this is my favorite of everything I've heard you do man! What energy. I like the vocal treatment in the context of your arrangement; it works well!

Davemania.....Dude, sorry, missed clicking your link....Don't know how I missed it.
Love me do....Very good. Sounds like you had fun, yet captured a nice performance. I really dig this Tune, and your version is very good. You put the vocals a bit more into the mix than the Beatles did, but it still sounds good. Gives it more of a live feel. Shows you recorded it some time ago. Got anything newr, to see if you record any different? Like I said, cool tune. I Wanna Sniff Some Glue is way cool also... :D

And now for something completely different:... Strawberry Fields Forever
I was waiting for "I buried Paul" (or "cranberry sauce," or "I'm very bored," or whatever) at the end -- and it never came!

:p

These guys obviously know what they're doing.

I found a page of a young guy who bangs out Beatles covers by the dozen!

My Review of Osprey on Soundclick These songs are all lofi, by definition. He makes no exuses & acknowledges they're lofi, up front, but despite it's sonic difficulties, Osprey sings & plays these Beatles songs with energy and exuberance that carrys the day. The arrangements are pretty tight & authentic. His beat falters sometimes and his voice warbles sometimes, but it's wildly exciting stuff to hear. Beatles songs are catchy by like that, need I say? I like a lot of lofi home recordings if they convey some sort of energy and excitement, and Osprey does that. This was a great Beatles-cover discovery for me. Pretty much all tribute style covers, which I like and prefer.
Check it Peeps, or it's your loss!   ;)

Let's put this dude up on the charts!! ;) I think he deserves kudos for banging out all those Beatles tunes! So much energy! Dang, I remember being young!   ;)

I had'ta do it! I just posted 6 more oldies to Soundclick, myself!

Yes, you heard it right,... 6 Beatles covers!!! (It was 7, but I just deleted one tune because it was too lofi and suffered badly from mp3 encoding. Oh well!)
   ;)

One of these was already posted by another head, above, but this is my take on the same song, reply or response. (I couldn't resist!!)
   ;)

Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream! Suspend all disbelief, and take this sonic journey through time with me.

That's great stuff from Osprey, nice collection. I swear that's his guitar he's using for a drum! Nice to see

I almost posted my cover of Norwegian Wood, but it's pale in comparison to the rest of these tunes. I think I might re-record it, now that I can sing a bit better.

EDIT: I think I might post it, it sounds better than I remember. Vocals are shakey at times, spot on at others. And my sitar impersonation screws up a couple times (why didn't I track it again?). Anyway, the original session was lost when my hard drive died. When I go back home after Christmas, I can use my dad's acoustic again.

Thank I should post it?

No. Only perfect versions are acceptable here.

Just kidding. :D :D :D

Come on, just post it already.

Thought I'd join the fray with something I recorded around 3 years ago:

It's a cover of "I Will" in a slower, ballad piano version with vox. It was a quick mix I did for fun, so it may not be a "perfect" mix, nonetheless I had fun doing it.

That's a sincere "lounge-singer" version, if I ever heard one!
I just tipped your tip jar and ordered another round! Aye! ;)

Oh, this is lovely!!!! Very nice indeed! Retains the tenderness of the original, but add "weight"... An elegant viscosity, if you will... (no pun intended ;) )
