Here's my version of the BBS song from the thread, "let's make a song" that ran through the cave earlier this month. Thanks to all the members for lyrics. If you follow the thread you will see a list of the lyrics and who put them in. Oh yeah, this is the first song I've put on NWR, and I have one advantage over ya'll, I can listen to it without vocals. he he he he

dtb,

great job with the lyrics...this is really cool my friend...I'm almost done with my version too, it is a lot different from this...
good tune.

good job man!

Cool B.,
This was a lot of fun. I hope some others are doing it also.
It's gonna be fun to listen to different styles of the same lyrics.

bbs song

I screwed up. I'll try again.

here's the lyrics again:

Roland Saul:
"I always use to figure that a finger on the trigger was a couple steps closer to a bottle full of booze"
dtb: original line of Jim Arnold of the Dan Thompson Band, w/permission to use:
"Poodles, poodles, he showed me pictures of his poodles,
and I showed him my rottweilers"
VOXVENDER:
"When you smell the pain and you jab into a vein it's a feeling of disgust and guilt"
joro:
"When you feel the burn, eases the pain, then yearn, for that next sweet flowers lilt"
monty:
"If you are wondering, why you are blundering, at life and existence, and things that should be, take a look at your arms, and ponder the scars, where beautiful skin used to be"
Roel:
"Pass me the whisky, whisky, now"
langleyt:
"Some treasures are meant to stay hidden, locked away in their own secret cache, their splendor strickly forbidden, their glory a thing of the past"
Kelly Holdridge:
"She got high on heroin, she shot her arms to the heavens"
B. SABBATH:
"The gift of fury, a present you'll recieve, false sense of security, burning up all your needs"
jollylama:
"The truth is never worse, than the words that aren't spoken, It all just seems so easy, until your heart is broken"
strmkr:
"I hate every bone in her body except mine"

dtb, you did a beautiful job on the song! It made me feel proud to have my little tinny part in there. I espically liked the acoustic guitar and the strings/synths. Nice job on the vocals.

Langleyt,
Thanks. I hope you do a version. What the hell, it didn't take me to long ( you can tell by the recording, he he he ). I never sing. With the dudes I play with all the time, there are plenty of singers. I almost got one of them to do the vocals, but since this thing started, I felt like I should do it all. Sure was fun.

Great job!I love where my line came in,I wasn't expecting it there, but it works beautifully.I am going to try to get my version out soon,if MF ever gets off their asses and get my new soundcard shipped. The eternal backorder thing again!

strmkr,
One of the dudes I jam a little with ( poodles, poodles) was over this week and I gave him the list to read and said your line was the greatest. He writes some great stuff which I hope to get on NWR soon. Can't wait to here your version. Thanks.

Thats such a cool idea

When I was trying to work around this site a month ago I followed that thread about lyrics. So this is the outcome so far. Its very good. Well done. I didn`t think it would materialise but hey this is a great site! Good show

Bye

HAHAHA!!!!!!
Watch your step!
I'm arriving!

Wait one more day and you will hear my 80's glam-style version!

Peace...

Man... I finally got to listening to it. Way funny. I'm really proud to have my line as the chorus. I'm gonna celebrate it. Where's that bottle... aaah...

Never thought my line was gonna make it that far. It really was kindof a joke, even trying to make it harder on you guys with all the more serious kinda lines. And then it turned out to be the glue that sticks the parts together for you... hehe. cool...

Gonna try using it on all those young girls too... See if I can get one of them to stick. :D

what the hell, if nothing else, you might get some free drinks. he he he

"pass me the whisky, now"

dtb

Whatta Riot!

That was quite a feat you pulled off there, dtb...

How you put together such serious, great music while singing THOSE lyrics without cracking up is awesome.

It's amazing how all those lyrics somehow blended for this tune.

I liked the bassline the most, really tasteful.
The song was really constructed well, the mix sounded nice and warm...

And it would take a voice like yours to pull off such schitzoprenic bunch of thoughts.

Excellent Job, dtb!

:D

thanks VI,
who said I didn't "crack up" for this song. he he he he
It sure was a fun project. I wish some more of the BBS'ers had done something too. My feeling is that they may be a lttle more serious about this recording hobby than I am. he he he
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, first time recording myself playing an electric bass. I have normally been using drum machine for bass.

dtb

mhh do I have to use all the lyrics or can I leave a few lines out? huh?
