BBE Sonic Maximizer

You don't need one of these "exciters" to make good-sounding tracks, as a matter of fact, you should try to get the tracks sounding right "going to tape" simply with a good signal chain, good mic, proper placement.

But they are useful when you have to rescue less than stellar tracks, or as a coloring tool if used sparingly..........
 
Thanks Bruce. I agree completely about tracking it right the first time. Going mic shopping today...looking at the C1, and making some room changes. I just got curious about the BBE when I got CW's email...

I have no idea what effect they have in Sonar.

no sir i don't like it very much...u may have use for it in drums are bass...but i used it a lil bit stop using it a found my tracks sounding better
 
I bought Berhinger and a Studio V3 preamp today. I'm not thinking at this point "maximizers" are going to be necessary as I'm already digging the results. Hell, just switching to XLR's on my Sm57 for the electrics was a huge improvement!
