I have
the ATM10a. It's okay. Pretty well built.
Sound is just so-so. I guess about what you'd
expect in a $100 mic. I haven't used it much but
I wouldn't get rid of it because there's
no other battery-operated omni pencil mic
that I know of and it doesn't cost a lot.
It's a solid-built, weighty mic - not some
flimsy piece of junk. Comes with a nice windscreen
and decent soft case.
The sound is light on the bass end but not
particularly harsh, either. The sound
is not muffled. Sensitivity is on the low
end. I didn't notice any hiss problem
with general use. Being an omni, it does
not have any proximity effect so as you
speak or sing into it closely, the bass does not
get fuller.
I'd be curious to hear how others have found
to use the ATM10a?
