Sounds really good to me, very pro sounding. Great performances as well.

Hey Gonzo,
Sounds great.
Love that little didy between chord changes. :D

el34-
thanks man.....
little didy, wasn't that an aerosmith line in walk this way?!
LOL

yep, the little sliding chord part, kinda a ripoff chicken-pickin' lick.
i played that riff for years, before i wrote this song with it.....
i used to use it, for trying out guitars at the music store..
i figured, if the guitar could pick up that little riff clearly, then it had promise.

chili-
thanks for listening... glad you liked it!
i'm all about the 'rockin'

this one, was a blast to record...

i had the main lick down cold, from years of jamming it...

the idea was, how many rhythm tracks could i blend together, playing the same thing, with different sounds, before it started to bog down..

for me, the number was 4.

that was one experiment...

another, was room mics, on the solo parts....

i ended up discarding them, and only using the one close miced sm57 track.

i also did something a bit wierd with the mark2b head while doing the solo tracks....
i placed the head on the ground, right in front of the speaker, so the volume was just killing the back of the head, where the tubes are...

there seemed to be some.... magic of sorts, there....

thanks for listening!

more, on the issue of one of my experiments..

the putting of the amp head in front of the speakers:

you know the tubes are sensitive....

it's one of the things (this weird anamoly of sound) that mesa used to use as a selling point for their combos.. or any combo for that matter..

the tubes are hanging right inside the combo cabinet, which is throbbing with sound waves...

and these sound waves act sympathetically on the tubes, which is in turn amplified, and so on and so forth...

so, it's much easier to get singing sustain that is directly tied to the speaker/head/air/guitar connection.....

that magic voodoo stuff...

after much experimentation, i found that if i put the head directly in the path of the most intense sound, it would act directly on the tubes in the head, and translate into some voodoo...

and this voodoo, is subject to actual line voltage, and the volume you play at, and the moisture in the air, and the way you hold your lip.

:)

try it....

the louder, the better...

but if you have super sensitive tubes, you may just get proximity "ringing", which may mean you need to change a tube(s).........

Love this song. Do you guys play this live? That would be so cool to see. Great job!:D

GREAT guitar sounds
Excellent tambourine (it really is heard to do well)
Terrific song
MORE!!!!!

You really rock!!! Sounds very pro, a little 80's though but in a positiv way!
I really dig it!!

Xeries
glad you dig it!
well, 'us', is me, and brent dacus, who lives in texas (i'm in utah) so it'd be hard to hook up a live gig.
but this would be a killer song to do live, for sure.

Rayc
thanks on the tambourine prop!!
LOL
i did the tamb, after i got the drum tracks back from brent, but no one has ever even mentioned it before!!
hehe

more, on the way........

Benyah
thanks for listening! glad you liked it...
it does have a touch of the old 80's swagger to it, but i tried to modernize it enough to fit into now.

that kind of riff, it's just hard to approach it any other way than the way i did...

originally, i thought it'd have an offbeat drum track, like a zydeco thing...
i still wouldn't mind chasing down that idea with it, just to see if it'd play out.........
