Hi all! Thought I'd post some samples from current projects - some of you may have seen my "stuck and frustrated" post in the recording techniques section, and since then I think I've improved greatly. Always looking for pointers from you all, though!
These mp3s will be online for probably 4-7 days.
Still no original songs, as I'm taking my time to perfect them as much as possible. All songs except "Interstate Love Song" are performed and produced by me.
I don't want to touch this recording again ever, because it was such a pain to put together... someone asked me to record it for her, but she broke up with me before it was finished. A-hem. Anyway, the responses that I got to my "stuck and frustrated" post were so helpful. I learned a bunch of new techniques, and I wanted a guinea pig - and the backing track for this song was finished. All I had to do were the vocals. All told, I think this song took about 40-50 tracks. So comments on this should be more of the "keep this in mind for next time" variety, because I've already deleted the Cakewalk bundle. Don't want to touch the song ever again.
The song is "Someone Else Not Me", by Duran Duran. It's from their latest release, _Pop Trash_. If you don't own it, pick it up. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Sorry about the size. I hate the way mp3s sound, and 256kb/s was the lowest bitrate that sounded acceptable to me.
"Interstate Love Song" - performed by my friend Chris. I'm posting this mostly as a 'See? I'm improving!' type thing for the people who helped me out earlier. This mix is done, and I really don't want to do anything more with it. Comments would be appreciated, though!

Now these last two, I'm looking for pointers for improving my mix. I kept the cakewalk bundles, and would love to try any changes that people suggest.
"I'm Looking Through You" - originally by the Beatles. My noise reduction kinda destroyed the fadeout, but maybe nobody will care.
Any suggestions for making this mix sound better?

"The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get" - originally by Morrissey. Again, any suggestions would be welcome. I'm pretty proud of the way I sang this one, so I hope you like it.
My main gripe with this song is the pop at the very end of the file. Can you all hear that? I've tried going into a wave editor and chopping off the very end, but it didn't make any difference. What causes that, and is there any way I can get rid of it?
