Bassline fail. Seeking advice.

This song has been "finished" for about a month or two, but I'm still a little horrified by how the bassline sounds. All muddled and weird. I've played around with it for a couple days and haven't been able to get it to my liking...anyone have some advice?

a little bit hard to listen to, as the main just of the song was a repetative drum machine, sounding pattern, with a synth doing do-re-mi (minor) for the first two minutes.

I think the bass is consistant with the rest of the sounds. They're all sampled or synthesized sounds anyway, right? Kinda like taking a patch off a Korg Triton and thinking it is lacking.

I thought it was OK, for what it was.

It's all pretty basic MIDI done in Live 7. All the stuff I do is simple because I'm still kind of feeling my way around that program, even after using it a year

keep at it. If my stuff sounded that good when I was a teenager, I'd be typing this from my chalet and getting royalty checks at the post office as my exercise.
