Expensive and don't work nearly as well as rockwool. OC 703/5 or the fluffy pink stuff. They sure look cool tho. I have a couple purple ones someone gave me.

save up and build proper traps with rockwool/OC703/5 and wooden frames or buy something from gik/realtraps, for me my DIY attempts weren't good enough, they made a difference but it wasn't as good as a pro traps

it's fairly easy - I have a downunder vesion - same specs etc.
They don't trap bass in the way we expect bass to be trapped - they simply aren't built for it.
They do absorb some frequencies and clean up a space a bit but they aren't what you'd expect from a BASS trap. They don't go low enough.

+1

Build your own with the proper materials. You'll save money, and if done properly, they'll work great. Those foam things in your link look pretty useless.

So not much love for these Auralex bass traps. :)
Have to reconsider and maybe get GIK's.

Honestly, and this isn't to shit on the company, but those aren't bass traps and they shouldn't be calling them that.

The GIK stuff's cool & the stuff Ethan Winer makes'n'sells through Real Traps is terrific - neither can deliver to Australia without the unti price trebling which is a bummer as I'm super unhandy with tools n bit of lumber.

I bet I'm more useless than you when it comes to handy work. But I still built my traps. It's easy as hell. Find a good video and follow instructions, it's really child's play.

If you're on a budget do what I did: buy as much fluffy pink stuff as you can from
Home depot/lowes/whatever, stuff it in the corner from floor to ceiling and when you get more money/time cover it with something. Then later down the road I "prettied it up" so-to-speak. Hell you could just stuff that in the corner and hang some big movie theater style curtains over it and it wouldn't look too bad. Promise it will work better than the auralex. You can't treat ceiling/wall corners as gracefully but the four corners will get you to a point (if you're like me) where you say "damn this acoustic treatment really is the ticket!" And you won't feel insecure about throwing down some real cash. Don't fall for marketing hype I did that and spent money on a lot
of auralex and cheap reflections filters and was thinking
"This acoustic treatment stuff is overrated." Couldn't have been more wrong. Not that that stuff doesn't have its place....

+1. I built mine out of scraps and it was sooo easy.
If you've got old skirting boards and a few other scraps, why not try building a frame just to see how it goes?
If it goes well you can look into getting some rockwool. ;)

A staple gun is handy for covering the thing but if you don't have tools a bunch of flat head thumb tacks will do.
