i have one of those 50 watt vox valvetronics amps and i love it.

i love it even more when i put my gretsch short scale bass through it with a little distortion and delay.

problem is, whenever i put the wattage up a little, everything sounds like its gonna blow up which i think is bad.

so the question is...

if i buy a bass cab, can i connect it to my vox amp and play as loud as id like considering the internal speaker is muted when an external cab is connected?

would this be safe?

and would i still have all the same features or would it sound worse?

thank you very much almighty ones.

oh and if so, what kind of speakers do you reccomed? 15" or 10"? with or without tweeter/ horn?

Yes, that would be smart, so you don't blow your guitar speaker.

As long as you're not gigging, you can go with a 10, a 12, or a 15.

No problem. Try a 2x10 cab. Maybe a Avatar or Eden. Make sure its the same impedance of your current cab... just to keep things simple. (I.E. 4ohms, 8 ohms, 16 ohms)
